Long days,
fluorescent lights shining down,
sitting in lines,
staring at the front.
They talk and talk and talk,
notes notes notes,
a question or two.
Next class,
repeat.
Lunchtime,
Chat with friends, joke around.
Head to class,
repeat.
Final class of the day,
repeat.
Time to head home,
hop on the bus,
wait for an hour or 2 before finally getting home.
Now it’s almost 7,
dinnertime.
8 has rolled in,
time to do the piles of homework.
Now it’s 10 and to stay healthy they need to sleep.
But there has been no time for themselves
so they skip sleep,
stay up all night on their phone,
on their computer.
It’s 1AM,
They finally go to sleep only to wake up 5 hours later.
They get back up, get ready for school, hop on the bus,
skipping breakfast.
And then a repeat.
