Julia Cameron, this time around, says that one should not wait to write. One cannot just sit around all day, waiting for a long period of time where they can sit down and write. “Making writing a big deal makes it difficult. Keeping write casual tends to keep it possible.”
All you have to do is make some time in your schedule to write. Before you do all your chores, write a few paragraphs or so and then get to work. You don’t need a year off to write a novel, just find a few minutes in the day and write a bit. “Just at the moment I have out-of-town guests coming in, a meal to cook, horses to feed, and my dogs would really like a good long walk. I may or may not get to the ‘long’ part of walk, but I will get to everything else—right after I write.”
